Given the great success of our recent advocacy efforts to restore DACA’s Advance Parole in Washington, D.C., we are pleased to announce that the CMSC is launching the Advance Parole Application Fund Drive. This fund is for DACA recipients that have urgent reasons to apply for humanitarian Advance Parole, to allow them to travel abroad to tend to loved ones suffering from serious illness but cannot afford to pay the $575 application fee. On July 21, 2019, four DACA recipients accidentally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border on their way to visit the San Diego Friendship Park to see their grandmother across the border fence. They missed their exit and ended up crossing the border to Tijuana. Professor Armando Vazquez-Ramos and the California-Mexico Studies Center team, as well as congressional representatives and lawyers advocated for them to be able to successfully return to the U.S. To learn more about their story, watch the video
